What to include
Four lines get most problems solved on the first reply:
- The email address you sign in with
- Your device and OS version — e.g. iPhone 14, iOS 18.2
- The app version, shown at the bottom of the app's Settings
- A screenshot — blur your customers' numbers if you like
Please do not email us message content you would not want copied into a support thread. We never ask for your password or an API key.
Common questions
Accounts & sign-in
How do I get an account?
Workspaces are created in the web portal at app.webocode.me, not in the mobile app. Sign up there, confirm the verification email, and then sign in to ZLA Inbox with the same email and password. The app signs in to an account you already have — it does not create one.
I did not get the verification email.
Check your spam folder first — the message comes from our sending domain and some filters hold it. Until an address is confirmed, sign-in is blocked on purpose.
The link expires, so if yours is old, ask for a new one: try to sign in with your real password, and a Resend the confirmation link button appears under the error. It is there in both the app and the portal, and only after a sign-in attempt — which is why you will not find it on the page before you try. If it still does not arrive, email us and we will confirm the account by hand.
I forgot my password.
Tap Forgot your password? under the sign-in button in ZLA Inbox, or use app.webocode.me/forgot-password in a browser. Either way you get a one-time link by email; the link itself opens in your browser rather than in the app.
For your safety we answer the same way whether or not an address is registered, so an on-screen confirmation is not proof the account exists — check the mailbox, spam folder included.
Resetting a password signs you out everywhere, including the mobile app. Sign in again with the new one.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone and Android phones. Version 1.0 is a phone layout: it installs on iPad in iPhone compatibility mode, but a tablet layout is not ready yet. The web portal works in any modern browser, on any screen size.
Using the Inbox
Why can I not reply to a conversation?
WhatsApp only allows a business to write freely for 24 hours after the customer's last message. That is WhatsApp's rule, not ours, and the app shows the time remaining on every conversation. Once the window closes the reply box is disabled.
To reach that customer again, send an approved message template from the web portal. Their reply to it opens a fresh 24-hour window.
How long are conversations kept?
Incoming customer messages are deleted automatically 3 days after they arrive. This is deliberate, and it is not configurable — we would rather hold as little of your customers' content as we can. Export or act on anything you need to keep within that window.
Your own send history and the usage ledger are kept, because delivery receipts can arrive late and every charge has to trace back to a message.
A customer sent a photo or a document and I only see a placeholder.
Expected in version 1.0. Voice notes play inline; images and documents are shown as a placeholder for now. Nothing a customer sends is ever stored on our side — attachments are fetched from WhatsApp only at the moment you open them, which is also why they stop being available once WhatsApp expires them.
A customer replied but nothing appeared in the Inbox.
Pull down to refresh first. If it is still missing, the usual causes are:
- the reply is older than 3 days and has been purged;
- the customer replied to a number that is not connected to this workspace;
- the WhatsApp webhook for your account has stopped — we are alerted when that happens, but tell us anyway.
Delivery & billing
What do the delivery statuses mean?
- Queued — accepted by us, not yet handed to WhatsApp.
- Sent — WhatsApp accepted it.
- Delivered — it reached the recipient's phone.
- Read — they opened it. Only reported if the recipient has read receipts on.
- Failed — WhatsApp rejected it, or the recipient could not be reached. Open the message to see the reason.
Statuses come from WhatsApp's own webhooks, so they can arrive minutes after the send.
A message failed. What now?
The three we see most:
- The number is not on WhatsApp, or was typed without its country code.
- The recipient opted out. Someone who replies STOP is blocked from further messages until they send START.
- The template is not approved, or was paused by Meta for quality. Check its status in the portal.
Failed messages are not billed.
How is usage counted?
On delivery, not on send. A message you press send on but that never reaches the recipient does not appear in the ledger. Free-form replies you send inside the 24-hour window are not billed.
The Usage tab shows the billed message count, Meta's cost, our markup and the billed total for the period you pick, broken down by message category and by recipient country, with the full ledger underneath. If a line does not look right, email us the period and we will trace it.
Privacy & data
What does the app collect?
Your sign-in email, the phone numbers and message content of the conversations your workspace already holds, and the replies you type. That is all. There is no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK, no crash reporter and no tracking of any kind — the app never asks for permission to track you, because it has nothing to track you with. Your session is held in the iOS keychain or the Android keystore.
The full policy is at app.webocode.me/privacy.
How do I delete my data?
See Data deletion — it sets out what to send, what gets deleted, what we must keep for tax and billing records, and how long it takes.
I received a WhatsApp message from a business and I want it to stop.
Reply STOP to that conversation in WhatsApp. It takes effect immediately and blocks further messages from that business through us, whatever their own system says. Reply START if you change your mind.
We deliver those messages on behalf of the business that holds your details — we are not the sender. For access, correction or deletion of the details themselves, contact that business. If you cannot identify them, write to us with the number that messaged you and we will pass it on.
Is ZLA Inbox affiliated with WhatsApp?
No. ZLA Inbox is an independent product of webOcode, built on the official WhatsApp Business Cloud API as a Meta Tech Provider. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc. WhatsApp is a trademark of WhatsApp LLC.
